Amazing Visuals. Play isn't too shabby either.

The hot springs- um- they strip down to their undies to refresh. The scene's pretty much skipable, but just in case...the girl ninja has shown up as an NPC during two of my visits ^_^

Got it as a gift...brand new, I would love to see this on a 360 or even PS3 platform...could you imagine how insane they could get visually? (This is one of those games you bring up when talking about games as an art form )

This is a fantastic game!! And probably my favorite on the Wii that is Wii-exclusive. The game makes you feel very empowered, there's just enough leveling up to keep you interested too, acquiring new swords and seeing new areas. Great stuff!

To berit:
I love it when your comments are longer than my review! :) I don't find cooking with alcohol shocking either, but it's in the game so I have to report it, just so parents know why that descriptor's there. If I could find that magazine, I'd probably buy it, too. I picked that screenshot because it had the girl ninja in it. :) --Cary

I think this review (as it pertains to what children it's suitable for) is pretty accurate. Personally, I don't find cooking with alcohol to be shocking in the slightest, as almost every broth/sauce in asian cuisine has some mirin (cooking wine) or sake in it. Personally, I think it's good to teach children about "legitimate" alcohol uses such as a cooking ingredient. Or, light social drinking (like for work cocktail parties.) Otherwise they'll only learn about it from their "friends", who seem to follow some "frat-boy-cool" standard.

But anyway, I bought that Play magazine because I wanted to read the interview, and saw that it was originally developed to be "Princess Crown 3: Ninja Princess" (Princess Crown was, as you likely know, a game for the Saturn which came out in Japan only. Very like Odin Sphere, only less complex by a bit.) I think anyone with a slight interest in it should buy it, because it also said in the article that they had a very hard time getting a publisher--sega wanted the developer's word that it would sell a million units before they would publish it! He couldn't guarantee it, so they wouldn't put it out.

Normally, I don't buy wii games much because there are not many that interest me, and we usually are able to play with/borrow from friends. But, we decided to buy it even though we already had a copy to play because we wanted to support it! So, everyone buy it! :P

Oh, P.S., that screenshot you used in this article is from my favorite environment of the game. It's one of the more simple, yet I think beautiful, parts.

Hi Gamerdad,

My dad will not let me play C.O.R.E. on my new DSi. I’m 11 years old and i will be 12 next month. It only says Blood Gore and Language my Dad says “No because it is rated “M”) But yet he bought me inFAMOUS for my PS3 and that has Blood Gore Drugs Alchohol EXCESSIVE swearing and more violence than you could imagine. I have played games like starcraft which are just as bad if not worse. I also am allowed to watch any PG-13 movies.

Do you think i should be allowed to play C.O.R.E?

From what I've seen of this at my friend's house, I'd have to agree with this review completely. The game feels more E-10 than T to me, though.
