Another GOG user checking in--have grabbed a number of games from here, and honestly, I don't care if I previously owned them--the low price makes it a no brainer to pick it up, mostly for the ease of installation and and management. Add to it that I can go back and play many games I never got around to back then, and color me thrilled.

So far, every game I've bought has played without a hitch in both 32 and 64bit versions of XP Pro.

My god, I actually reviewed most of those games. Are you sure they/re OLD? I mean, Seven Cities of Gold is old, right? But 10... yeah... okay... I'm old.

Like everybody else commenting, I have the "own it" problem. However, there are a lot of *other* games from back around the same time which I pirated, I'm ashamed to say. At the time, I was a high school (and later college) kid on a very limited income, and it was (relatively) easy to do, so I got copies of a lot of things, some of which I never even really got to spend any time on. So if GOG keeps adding titles from the same era, and stuff I pirated once upon a time comes up, I'll try to pick it up legit and maybe I can make up a little for my previous transgressions by supporting the good guys.

I would be interested in how the installs work for that collection!

As for GameTap, the whole 'you must be online' thing has greatly reduced my usage of the service.

Not to take anything away from GOG - they're great - but GameTap actually has the Fallout collection (1,2,Tactics) for DRM-free purchase for cheaper than GOG's total price. No idea how the releases compare, but options are good, right? :)

And if you're a GameTap subscriber, the games are already available to you. And if you're not a subscriber, the first game can be played for free.

I also realize I'm preaching to the choir here Mike, but thought others should know.

I'll have to check this out. I believe my family is getting me Fallout 3 for my birthday. I'd love to check out 1 & 2 as I've never played them.

Arcanum is tough to find now, I hope that GoG can get that one ... and the other Troika stuff as well. I would snap those up in a second, despite having the disks. I hate using disk images but in terms of space (an issue on a netbook) and just general principal.

I face the same dilemma you do in that almost all the games I would want on GOG I already own. I don't have the issue of playing on a laptop/notebook/netbook so there is no incentive there, and I recently replayed Fallout 1 & 2 from my original CDs. That said, I am going to support them at some point because I think what they are doing is actually very important to the gaming industry, I just need to find a game I want (and have the time to play).

You mentioned Arcanum, I use to have that and never finished it. Can't find the discs so I can't play it now. Perhaps GOG will get that, I would buy that from them. :)
