........and "yellowpanda", my advice is to show your dad that almost all games have shooting in them, and that if tells you not to play shooters, you only have 1 or 2 other games that you can play on Xbox. Or you can show him how some games aren't entirely shooters, like "Uncharted" They still have puzzles you need to solve, so it engages your mind that way. (This worked on my parents for Dark Void).

Also, for some reason my parents are pretty open and uncaring about sex and nudity in video games, but the violence really gets to them. If I were to get Mass Effect 2, it would be my first "M" game. I only own a couple of games (the ones my parents said "challenged the mind"). Here is the list: Morrowind (Oblivion is the sequel), Knights of the Old Republic, Dark Void and Spore. (I have a bunch of games I was given as a small child, but they don't really count).

I am a 13 year old kid who is wondering about playing Mass Effect 2. The game is rated "M" but I've been looking at some of the reviews, and apparently you can turn the blood and sex off in the options menu. I was wondering if anyone who has the game can tell me how bad the game is, and if its appropriate.

i just got an xbox arcade, but my dad says i cant get shooters cos he doesnt like the idea of me killing people. that pretty much limits my options (for good games anyway) to fifa and forza. im 12. ive shown him this site, but he still says he hates the idea. what the most frustrating thng is, the reason i spent £100 was so i could play halo3 and cod against my mates! wot do i do?

desensitized means "to render one insensitive or less sensitive, or to make one less emotionally sensitive by repeated shocks"

My son has been begging me for a certain video game (Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2) he is 15 and he says that he wants it more than anything. He is very mature for his age and im wondering if i should let him buy it.
